Comparing the 1994 Jeep Cherokee to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee

At the cusp of our name change, the new Jeep Cherokee has arrived and a 1994 Jeep Cherokee has been traded. This presents an awesome opportunity to compare the two vehicles.

BODY: You can see a significant difference in the style although the design is rather similar; both accommodate 4 passengers (and of course the driver).

JEEP GRILL: much more prominent on the newer model, possibly due to the years of building the brand.

HEADLIGHTS: Much more sleek. You can tell appearance is much more of a concern now than it was 20 years ago with the chrome trim and the attention to detail.

ENGINE: In the 1994 Cherokee engine much more of the "guts" are exposed. In 20 years there has been simplification and organization of the engine.

DASHBOARD: From 1994 to 2014 there have been many advancements to the dash from digital speedometers, to touchscreens to MP3 integration to heated steering and steering wheel controls.

DOORS: The new doors have more storage space and more dimension. This 1994  Jeep Cherokee had electric windows and door locks so they are similar in that regard.

BACKSEAT: The 1994 Jeep Cherokee pictured has cloth seats. It also came with a full-size tire, which is not included on this Jeep Cherokee, but is also available. The leather seats are much more contoured and have more options for seating and folding down.

BACK EXTERIOR: More interior room is created with the rounding of the back door. Both Cherokees have a back windshield wiper. The 1994 Cherokee has a hitch. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee pictured does not have the trailer tow package, but it is available.
